NAF: AVM Abubakar Suleh Takes Over As 49th Air Officer Of Logistics Command

In line with the recent redeployment of senior officers by the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness, the Headquarters Logistics Command on 10 November 2025 witnessed another transition of leadership as Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Abubakar Abdul Suleh formally assumed duty as the 49th Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Logistics Command.

According to a statement, the ceremony, held at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja, featured the symbolic handing and taking over of the Command flag and the signing of official notes between the outgoing AOC, AVM Adeniran Kolade Ademuwagun, and the incoming AOC, marking the official transfer of authority and responsibility.

In his maiden address, AVM Suleh expressed deep appreciation to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, for the confidence reposed in him to lead the command, acknowledging the remarkable contributions of his predecessor.

He assured that his administration would consolidate on the successes recorded and sustain the Command’s pivotal role in driving operational excellence across all theatres of operations.

According to him, “Logistics is the heartbeat of every mission, and our ability to sustain operations by ensuring the availability of critical assets and personnel support remains sacrosanct.” The new AOC unveiled a four-point agenda for his tenure, centered on enhancing operational readiness, strengthening accountability and standards, investing in people and innovation, and deepening cooperation with operational commands and other units for seamless support.

AVM Suleh further pledged to anchor his leadership on integrity, fairness, hard work, and an open-door policy, urging all personnel to demonstrate renewed commitment to excellence in service.

Earlier, in his farewell remarks, the outgoing AOC, AVM Ademuwagun, commended officers and airmen for their support and dedication during his tenure, highlighting the value of discipline, fitness, vigilance, and sincere leadership.

The event concluded with the symbolic handover ceremony, signing of notes, and a group photograph marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Logistics Command.
