MWUN Salutes Labour Workers Worldwide

As part of measures to commemorate the May Day occasion, the President – General of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, on Wednesday , felicitates Nigerian workers and across the universe for their steadfastness, resilience and commitment towards building a great country to be one of the best amongst comity of nations .

Adeyanju who is the 1st Deputy President, Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) stated that in spite of the numerous politics and economic challenges, the Nigerian Workers are still striving on believing that Labour is the dignity of man.

He also commended maritime stakeholders and employers of labour in the industry for the existing cooperation towards ensuring a safe and healthy working environment

The PG in a statement e-signed by Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna, Head of Media, MWUN quoted Adeyanju saying,” Today as we gather for this auspicious occasion of the May Day, I the President -General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria and Deputy President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), I want us to reflect on the journey of labour so far, the struggles endured and victories achieved.

” Let us remind the world that the strength of a nation lies not in her wealth or power but in the well-being and prosperity of her workers.

“Let us march forward with purpose and determination, as I also want to extend my greetings to Maritime Workers, the management of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Shippers Council, NIWA, STOAN, NASO, and Shipping Employers for making the maritime sector in Nigeria a safe haven for business transactions.”
