MWUN Reopens National Secretariat For Skeletal Operations

The Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN),has reopened it national secretariat for skeletal activities after five weeks of lockdown due to COVID19 pandemic.

According to a statement on Tuesday, the resumption would be based on minor activities in a bid to maintain social distancing and other safety protocols.

The resumption also affects other annexes across the country.

The statement said “MWUN Announce resumption of skeletal activities in the national secretariat while observing the ITF COVID -19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR workers within the seaports. Same protocols have been disseminated to all Nigeria ports for action”,it reads .

Recall that maritime labour union had announced the closure of its national secretariat and annex offices for two weeks on March 24, 2020.

The President General, Adewale Adeyanju, also announced the postponement of its national executive council meeting and National Administrative Council (NAC) and Central Working Committee (CWC) to deliberate on issues of national interest.
