MWUN Inaugurates Silo Cargo Truck Owners Executives Under  Dockworkers Branch.

The Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria MWUN has inaugurated a new unit under the aegis of Silo Cargo Truck Owners of  the Dockworkers Branch .

 

The swearing of the unit executives took place on Monday , February 24th 2025 at the union’s Secretariat in Lagos.

 

The new. executives of Silo Bulk Cargo Truck Owners has Comrade Olarenwaju Taofeek as chairman and Comrade Afolabi Michael as Vice Chairman.

 

Others are – Okunade Olalekan as Secretary; Kenneth Ledum- Assistant Secretary, Adeogun Ayodele- Treasurer; Amao Samuel – Organiser; and Godspower Echendu- Assistant Organiser.

 

Comrade Olukiran Idowu- Auditor; Oyeniran Monsuru – Financial Secretary; Okelola Fatai- Ex officio and Oyedepo Saheed ex officio.

 

Speaking at the ceremony  , President General of MWUN,  Comrade Adewale Adeyanju called on the new members to shun any form of illegitimate activities, saying that jumping the gun will not be tolerated by the leadership of the union.

 

While congratulating the unit executives Adeyanju reiterated the union will not tolerate indiscipline from anyone mostly as it concerns the new executives of Silo Cargo Truck Owners Executives pointing out that due process must be adhered to in line with the constitution.

Earlier, President , Dockworkers Branch, MWUN Comrade Tajudeen Ibrahim Ohize called on the newly elected officers to abide by the unions rules and regulations.

In his acceptance speech,  Chairman,Silo Cargo Truck Owners Comrade Olarenwaju Taofeek appreciated the leadership of MWUN for the swearing in, pledging to abide by the rules and set down principles of the union.

He further pledged members loyalty to the district, branch and national officers of the union.
