MWUN  ELECTION: Comrade Mazeli Clinches 2nd Term Presidential Ticket Of  NPA Branch Unopposed

President, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Branch, Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) Comrade Ifeanyi Mazeli Edward on Monday, clinched  the presidential ticket for his second term re-election.

 

Speaking with newsmen in his office shortly after the form purchase, Mazeli disclosed that all the branch executives are to enter the election  unopposed, saying history has been made in  the branch election.

 

Mazeli who is the incumbent President ,said leadership under his watch in the last four years witnessed harmony, unity and togetherness which had never existed in the history of the branch.

According to him, the branch executives would work harder during the second term to ensure that workers are duly promoted adding that expectations would be very high to achieve some unfinished projects.

 

 

Mazeli maintained that NPA junior staff are fewer in number against their senior colleagues but added that such issues would be addressed squarely during the second term

 

The President stressed that workers welfare and promotions remain the cardinal objectives of the branch executive , pointing out NPA junior staff would testify to the next level agenda in the four years.

He noted that the collective efforts by the branch executives and the national officers have remodelled the union to enviable heights pointing that the leadership qualities of  Comrade Adewale Adeyanju is worthy of emulation.

 

“We have also drawn our master plan for the second term but I wouldn’t want to let the cat out of the bag yet. The truth of the matter is that I expect to see a better NPA this time around.

“If you know where we are coming from, you need to appreciate the fact that NPA branch elections have always been war,war war, dating back from inception.It has not been easy for this branch mostly as it affects elections period.

“This is the first time in  where nobody signifies interest to contest against a sitting president of the branch.”
