MWUN Acts Of Selflessness Are Second To None……..ANLCA Boss

The  Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has described the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) and other workers as second to none in port operations.

The National President, ANLCA, Hon. Iju Tony Nwabunike, in a goodwill message issued on Friday and addressed to the President General, MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, noted that MWUN acts of selflessness are second to none and has not gone unnoticed.

The ANLCA Boss in his May Day message  in  celebration of all workers worldwide, especially those in the maritime industry, added that :“We celebrate the Nigerian maritime workers sincerely, because we owe them more than they are paid and we know that without them, a maritime nation, like ours, will never exist let alone grow.

“We in the ANLCA see the MWUN and other workers as our formidable partners.

“We remember your efforts not only at protecting workers’ rights but also at championing the interests of the majority of Nigerians,” he said.

Nwabunike further noted that the association has on record, the many interventions the labour association has made towards suggesting ideas and policies redirection for government, on many occasions without promoting industrial disharmony.

He maintained that members of MWUN are persons on the frontlines of keeping the ports working, even in the face of Covid-19 pandemic that has affected everywhere globally.
Nwabunike, however, posited that the maritime labour union is the pillar and strength of the sector and added that they are the workforce of the entire maritime sector.

According to Nwabunike, “We celebrate your contributions because without you, our desires for greater economy, flourishing commerce, improved social life would have remained a mirage.

“ANLCA’s partnership with you and the entire labour movements in the maritime industry will remain evergreen, putting the interest of majority first and being truthful, fair and dedicated.

“Indeed, you are a vital human element to our national economic life. There is dignity in what you are doing for us; we know it even though we don’t say it out everyday”.
