MWUN 2025 Elections: Comrade Bunu Posters Flood Nation’s Seaports , As Comrade Mazeli Throws In Towel

Comrade Francis Bunu, a major contender in the forthcoming elections of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has continued to gain more grounds following multiple posters across the nation’s seaports.
Bunu posters were sighted in major seaports in the Nigerian Ports , conspicuously in outports or Port Harcourt, Warri,Calabar and Onne.
Our correspondent who obtained pictorial evidents of his posters, reports that Bunu posters, flyers and pamphlets dominated outstations where the union has its presence.
Back in Lagos Ports, DAILYFOCUS NIGERIA who visited Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT), Lagos Ports Complex (LPC) ,Tin Can Island Port Complex (TCIPC) Confirmed that posters of Bunu were positioned in strategic locations within the port environs.
Meanwhile , one of the contesters vying for the office of the President General , Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), in the forthcoming March 28 elections, Comrade Ifeanyi Edwards Mazeli has thrown in the towel ahead of the contest.
Comrade Mazeli who is the incumbent President, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) branch of MWUN said he stepped down for the sake of peace and harmony.

He explained that after consulting with the immediate past President General of the union, Comrade Tony Nted Emmanuel, there was the need for him to throw in the towel

Speaking via the telephone on Thursday , the incumbent maintained that it became necessary for him to quit the race for peace to reign in the industry
He added that he stepped down for another aspirant, Comrade Francis Bunu.
Asked if any promise was made from the leaders of the union that prompted his withdrawal, he said there was nothing of such.
Recall that Dockworkers, Seamen and NPA branches had on January 17, led members of the branches to declare their support for Comrade Francis Bunu who is ostensibly the most popular candidate among the contestants.
