Apparently satisfied with his sterling performance in the capacity building, the Chairman , Multimix Academy, Dr. Obiora Madu, has been honoured as “Pan African Patriotic Icon of the year award” from the Youth Partnership for African Development (YOUPAD).
The Thomas Sankara Pan African leadership Prize for excellence as bestowed on the transport and logistics expert was in recognition to the Multimix Academy boss immense contributions to logistics supply chain sub- sector of the nation’s economy and Africa in particular.
YOUPAD is an African based youth organisation with a core objective of building youths in leadership and entrepreneurship for the purpose of providing Africa with intellectually equipped youth to take the mantle of leadership so as to build the Africa of collective dreams which can only be achieved through an integrated, prosperous and peaceful continent driven by its own citizens and representing a dynamic Youth force in the international arena.
Speaking at the brief ceremony held in Lagos, National Coordinator, YOUPAD ,Comrade Nwankwo Henry Nkem stated that Dr Madu is a personality that believed in the development of the continent, mostly as it concerns logistics and chain supply.
“YOUPAD is delighted to be in West Africa, to be in Nigeria, and to be in Lagos to honour a man who is hard working and dedicated to service. A man who is accountable with 100% open door policy, a man with high administrative acumen and selfless leadership ideology.
“You are a team player and passionate youth developer which is evident in all your inclusive leadership style, your hardwork and dedication to national service via supply chain services speaks volumes for Africa as a continent.
“Through Multimix Academy sir, you have trained manpower that will transform the supply chain industry in Africa hence the award”.
While extolling, Dr. Madu for his contribution to build the Africa, the Nigeria Coordinator, stated that the continent has been problematic over time adding, that Africans should build and grow Africa in furtherance to changing the narrative from time immemorial.
He noted that YOUPAD currently exist in 52 countries of the continent adding that the movement is basically centred on African youths and how to develop the continent.
While responding as recipient of the award ,Dr. Madu said Multimix Academy was the first private company that started capacity building programme fo logistics and supply chain in Nigeria, adding that it also started the first certification courses with international export institute in Arizona USA.
According to him supply chain is a major problem in Africa, stating that ” You guys touched what can be called my hot bottom which is learning transfer. The goal of education is not all about money but its something i identify as a ministry. Someone asked me about my passion and vision and I responded that they are the same.”
He said supply chain is the fastest growing career in the world noting that first degree is just a stepping stone in ones career which cannot determine what an individual becomes in life.
The expert stated that:”I mentor youths , we also assist indigents students through scholarship and other projects. We also have online academy at a less cost. My ambition is not driven by money .
“Now about Africa, I am very passionate about this continent but the truth is that we can save Africa despite the terrible leadership we have.
The Multimix Academy boss further thanked the youths for the honour , even as he promised to furnished their library with books written so far by him.
“I promised to continue supporting your works and your members can access us online for the training programme at a discount. We can also offer some scholarship for your members in building capacity .”
