Maritime Workers Union Mourns Late Otunba Folarin

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria MWUN has expressed shock over the death of Otunba Kunle Folarin, saying that his demise represent an enormous loss to the shipping sector and the four branches of the labour group.

A statement on Saturday from the MWUN highlighted some of the notable interventions achievements on labour issues.

According to the statement, the union recognised the late icon’s  many interventions which ushered in good work regimes for the dockworkers and other port users.

“The leadership and the entire membership of maritime workers union of Nigeria are deeply saddened by the death of Otunba Kunle Folarin, a cherished and highly respected supporter of the union.

“His death represent an enormous loss to the maritime sector and to us as a union.

We want to recognise his many interventions which ushered in good work regimes for the dockworkers and other port users.

“Until his death he represented a walking repository of maritime knowledge and filled us with zeal and zest.

“We join his family, friends and well meaning Nigerians to celebrate a life well lived in service of humanity”,the statement added.
