MARITIME POLICE : AIG Yusuf Garba Gets New Posting As Oko Assumes Duty

AIG Musa Yusuf Garba, psc(+), IIPS, PSPS, the 22nd and immediate past Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of the Maritime Police Command, has been transferred to the FCID Annex in Kaduna, according to the Nigeria Police Force’s systemic order.

Police Public Relations Officer , ASP Adebayo Rasheed issued the statement on September 8, 2025, from the Maritime Police Command headquarters in Lagos.

According to the statement, during his tenure as AIG Maritime, Garba demonstrated exemplary leadership marked by innovative initiatives, strong collaborations, and a deep commitment to personnel welfare.

Notably, the Command under his administration marked a historic moment by celebrating retirees and newly promoted officers for the first time, fostering a culture of compassion and inclusiveness.

Garba also improved administrative efficiency by addressing longstanding operational issues within the Command’s sectionalized departments, enhancing command and control throughout the units.

Recognized as a visionary leader, Garba’s dedication and approach have strengthened the Maritime Police Command, positioning it to better fulfill its mandate. The Command expressed confidence that he will continue to excel in his new role.

The Maritime Police Command congratulated AIG Musa Yusuf Garba on his deployment and prayed for wisdom, strength, and success in his duties.

Meanwhile, AIG Festus Chinedu Oko psc has officially assumed duty as the 23rd top brass of the Maritime Command .
