He urged Ships & Ports to build more on the idea and insist that if a team member is not working in an organization, he should not play in the tournament.

“I told my team, we are not coming with anyone whose name is not on the payroll, we are here to play and enjoy the football, not necessarily to win.

He explained that the competition was created for people to meet up, enjoy themselves, fraternize after the football activities but said that when the Nigerian factor came in, it made participant teams to start including mercenaries within their members so, they pulled out but they are back this year to see if the narrative has changed.

Ubogu“We are doing capacity and team building development for my staff. I told them to come and enjoy themselves. We are not here to win or lose the game but to mingle with other stakeholders. That is why we have our stand, after the game, we will enjoy ourselves and catch some fun. We are just here to enjoy ourselves,” he said.

This he said will help to uphold the idea behind the competition which is to enable different companies within the maritime sector come together, know themselves, exchange contacts and collaborate.
