Authorities of Ajeromi /Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State has imposed N100 daily collection from Point of Service POS business operators.
According to a circular sighted by our correspondent , revealed that the imposition of daily #100 by the local government commenced on Monday, November 8th 2021.
The circular further stipulated that the collection would commence from Monday to Friday.
The unsigned circular further urged operators to cooperate and comply with the directive.
Meanwhile youths in Ajegunle have condemned the Local Government Area directive ,even as they threatened to embark on a peaceful protest .
According to a facebook post in furtherance to the reaction , called on street operators, vendors,traders and other stakeholders of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) to kick against the new tariff and imposition.
They further called for the cancellation of the new tariff imposed by the local authorities ; describing it as lawful.
They also urged the Local Government Chairman to introduce empowerment programme to encourage POS operators and not measures of extorting entrepreneurs in the community.
The post said” All POS operators, street vendors, market women and men, traders and all concerned SMEs let stand up for series of MASS MEETINGS, PROTEST AND DEMAND of unconditional cancellation of unlawful, heartless and stupid imposition of daily #100 by the local government TODAY, NOW & FOREVER.
“Join hands with Ajegunle People’s Movement to end double taxation…and demand financial support programmes that will help POS operators, traders and SMEs business to growth and survive the harsh business environment.
Meanwhile text messages put across to the local government Chairman, Fati Adekunle Ayoola proved abortive as at press time.
