LASWA Arrests Boat Operator For Ferrying Passengers Without Life Jacket Along Epe Waterways 

The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) on Saturday,  arrested a boat operator , seized   the engine for conveying  over 18 passengers without life jackets.

 

The Enforcement and Monitoring Team of  LASWA apprehended the operator within the Epe waters.

 

LASWA added that erring operators will be made to face disciplinary action when caught.

The verified facebook page of LASWA disclosed that”The Enforcement and Monitoring Team of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) today the 23rd of July, 2022 caught a boat operator ferrying passengers without life jackets in Epe.

“The operator was apprehended and the engine of the boat was seized.

 

LASWA added that “The Authority DOES NOT condone traveling on water without a life jacket, and we continue to implore all waterways users to ensure that they wear a good life jacket before boarding the boat, however short the trip is.
