LASG Shutdown Gaskiya Level Crossing For Railway Modernization Project

The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has announced plans to temporarily close Gaskiya Level Crossing for Track Laying on the level crossing towards the Apapa end of the railway line in continuation of the Lagos-Ibadan section of the Nigeria Railway Modernisation Project.

 

A statement issued on Friday disclosed that the Gaskiya Level Crossings will be closed from 3.00 a.m on Saturday, 9th January to 5.00 a.m on Monday, 11th January, 2021 for the construction work by the project contractor, China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) Nigeria Limited.

It, therefore, advised motorists coming from Gaskiya road to connect Ijora-7Up to navigate their way through Sari-Iganmu Road inwards Orile Iganmu to link Iganmu Bridge and continue their journey towards Ijora-7Up, while directing motorists coming from Ijora-7Up inwards Gaskiya Road to navigate through Marine Bridge to link Boundary Road inwards Olayinka Street to connect Gaskiya Road.

While imploring all road users plying the axis to comply with the traffic directions provided during the temporary closure, the statement informed that traffic management personnel, as well as road signs, will be available to aid motorists’ movement and minimise any inconvenience occasioned by the temporary closure.

 

The Transportation Ministry restated the commitment of the State Government to provide a seamless multi-modal transportation system that will ease traffic congestion across the State.
