LASG Approves Resumption Of Public Servants, Says COVID-19 Restrictions Remain From Midnight to 4a.m

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the resumption of all Public Servants on Grade Level 1 -12 with effect from Monday, November 2, 2020.

A statement issued by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola observed that the directive is in accordance with the recommendations of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 and advisory of the State Ministry of Health.

Muri-Okunola urged all Accounting Officers to ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols guiding against the spread of the virus in their respective MDAs, just as he directed that attendance duty rosters must be maintained in all State Government establishments.

Similarly, the curfew imposed on Lagos State after the hijack of the peaceful #EndSARS protests has been lifted immediately. The 12 a.m. to 4a.m curfew imposed by the Federal Government to curb the spread of COVID-19 remains.

Gbenga Omotoso, Commissioner for Information and Strategy stated this in a statement.

“Lagosians are free to go about their businesses without any hindrance whatsoever. Security agencies will continue to discharge their duties.

“Lagosians are urged to cooperate with law enforcement personnel to maintain the status of our State as one of the most peaceful.

“Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu thanks security agencies for their efforts in restoring peace to our troubled communities.

He also commended Lagosians for observing the curfew and ensuring the return of normalcy.

The Governor urged the citizenry not to do or encourage any action that may turn back the clock, but to keep living in harmony as we get set to rebuild our dear State and strengthen the unity that we are known for.
