Lagos State Health District IV Hosts 2025 Annual Management Retreat
The Lagos State Health District IV held its 2025 annual management retreat under the theme “Reinforcing a Motivated and Responsive Workforce for Better Healthcare Delivery in Health District IV.”
The event was announced in a statement by Oputeh Michael, Public Affairs Officer, on Friday.
Attendees included five Permanent Secretaries, heads of departments, Medical Officers of Health from local governments and Local Council Development Areas, unit heads, and staff members. Discussions centered on repositioning the facility as a fully functional healthcare delivery service provider.
Welcoming participants and acknowledging special guests, Permanent Secretary Dr. Abimbola Bowale expressed gratitude for their support, dedication, and diligence.
He praised the management team and department heads—who also served as participants—but emphasized the importance of time management. “Staff should ensure they work with time in all they do,” Dr. Bowale said.

He urged the team: “Let’s shine; when you shine, you will be seen and get more opportunities. They need not rest on their oars but strive hard to raise the bar of the facility, at least to be positioned as a fully healthcare delivery service provider.”
Dr. Bowale also commended Dr. Eniola Erinosho, who led participants through a review session on reinforcing a motivated and responsive workforce for better healthcare delivery in primary healthcare centers.
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Health, Dr. Kemi Ogunyemi, commended the management and frontline workers.
She highlighted ongoing efforts to monitor and train staff for improved quality healthcare delivery. “Contributions to the facility, without being economical with the truth, were actualised by all of us here,” Dr. Ogunyemi noted.
“But we need to be truthful to ourselves that we need to work harder to ensure that our primary healthcare centre is fully positioned into a motivated and responsive workforce for better healthcare delivery in Lagos State Health District IV.”
