Lagos Building Collapse In Oyingbo Traps Residents; 15 Rescued

A two-storey building collapsed in the Oyingbo area of Lagos at around 12:20 a.m. on October 27, 2025, leaving many residents trapped under the rubble.

So far, rescue teams have saved 15 people, including men, women, and children, some of whom are receiving treatment for injuries at nearby hospitals.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service responded promptly, with ongoing efforts to free those still trapped.

The building had been marked as high-risk due to structural concerns, but residents remained inside despite warnings.

This tragic incident has reignited worries about building safety and the need for stricter enforcement of construction regulations in Lagos.
