The Lagos Ferry Services (LAGFERRY) has transformed waterway travel since Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s administration took office, boosting daily passengers from an average of 1,500 to 2,000 in 2025—a steady climb fueled by safety upgrades and new routes.
The agency successfully retrofitted seven boats to top modern standards for safety, comfort, and performance: MF Apapa, MF Elegushi, MF Akran, MF Ayangburen, MF Majidun, MF Alausa, and MF Ejirin.
According to a statement, on Monday ,Lagos Ferry Services (LAGFERRY) since Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration began, structured as a press briefing highlight and these enhancements ensure smoother, safer voyages across Lagos’ busy lagoons.
LAGFERRY has also powered commerce and preserved jobs by offering barge logistics for giants like Dangote Industries, BUA Industries, and Crown Flour Mills.
“Goods now zip efficiently from Mile 2 to Apapa via waterways, easing road congestion and cutting costs.
“Fresh routes are expanding access:
Ijede–Lagos Island (launched October 11, 2025)
Ibeshe–Lekki, Victoria Island & Falomo (March 11, 2025)”, the statement added.
