KAYFAR 2023 : Farinto Declares To Contest ANLCA Presidential Election

Dr. Kayode Collins Farinto , the acting President, Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has indicated interest to contest the top position of the foremost freight forwarding group.

Ahead of the election which is expected to hold in April, Dr. Farinto disclosed that plans are afoot to officially declare his ambition in February 2023.

Speaking with our correspondent on Tuesday in Lagos, the former National Publicity Secretary (NPS) of ANLCA reiterated that contesting an election is normal saying, “I want to contest as the president of ANLCA and maybe declaring my intention very soon and it is going to be in February.

He stated that: ” I love contest and the position is open for any interested person to also declare his intention to contest with me “, pointing out that” a lot of people will come up to contest for the number one post of our association as well.”

Farinto who was also a former Chairman, Tin Can Island Port Chapter of ANLCA lamented the in – fighting of the association has caused setbacks to the freight forwarding practice noting that lack of peace and love have made matter worst among the practitioners.

He decried that the ANLCA crisis would soon come to an end because according to him, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) would hold very soon and issues from the aggrieved parties would be resolved .

The customs broker lamented that freight forwarders are not finding it easy to move cargo out of the ports due to the harsh policies of the federal government but affirmed that things will work out for good shortly after the AGM and elections.

It was also gathered that the Secretary General of ANLCA, Alhaji Mukaila Babatunde may likely contest alongside Farinto and others we are yet to declare.
