Ishaku Bans Use Of Polythene Bags In Taraba State

The Taraba State governor, Darius Ishaku has banned the use of polythene bags in the state capital.

The governor spoke at Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo, during the launching of Taraba State Water Sanitation and Hygiene Policy.

While inaugurating the water sanitation and hygiene policy, Ishaku said unless the use of polythene bags and sachet water is prohibited, the emergency declared on water sanitation in the state capital would not be effective.

Ishaku also chided those spreading rumours that he died during his one-week trip to London insisting that they would die before him.

Recall that there were widespread rumours in recent times in the state and on the social media suggesting that the governor suffered from serious illness, paralysed and subsequently died in the United Kingdom (UK).

Reacting to the rumour, Ishaku said he briefly went to London to rest after he worked for Taraba State for four years without taking even a week holiday in the past four years.

“I think the people who wish me dead were rather wishing me long life, they will die before me, I’m sound and healthy.

” I only went to rest, for four years I had no rest even for one week, although I have forgiven them all but let everybody know that I only went to London to take just a week rest,” he added.
