INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’s DAY CELEBRATION: Idimogu Makes Case For Women On Equal Opportunities
Lady Roseline Idimogu , wife of Hon. Jude Idimogu has advocated equal opportunities for women as an indisputable panacea for world peace.
The wife of the lawmaker representing Isolo /Oshodi Constituency of the Lagos State House of Assembly disclosed this on Sunday as part of commemorate to International Women’s Day Celebration.
She said in recognition of the roles women play in the society, there was the need for women to be appreciated by the male counterparts adding that “Women must in no way be limited by their features.
Idimogu further said, that the government’s responsibility is to make interventions that would ensure women are not discriminated against, adding that no man who is self respecting must feel intimidated or diminished by the progress of any woman.
“In the way that women from generations have stood behind and beside their men and have led them to success after success and victory after victory, what is fair is fair, what is right is right, if women truly want to fly, the men must release them to fly”, she intoned.
She added that those who hold public office understand the reason why they should not allow the rights of women to be relegated to the background in any way, and also government should make a Law that protects not only girl children but also women.
“The empowerment of women has also been proven to lead to economic and all round growth of nations, as shown by the fact that countries with gender equality are making better progress. She said.
