Innoson Motors To Establish CNG Conversion Station In Bayelsa


‎Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri on Monday received the management team of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) Company in a bid to seek for partnership in establishing a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion station.


‎The team led by it’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Innocent Chukwuma.

‎In his remarks, Governor Diri thanked Chief Chukwuma for his decision to invest in Bayelsa, stating that the government was ready to partner with Innoson group to make it a reality.

‎While stating that the world was moving into cleaner and renewable energy, the governor said the establishment of the conversion station was timely.

‎”On behalf of the government of Assured Prosperity and the good people of Bayelsa State, I welcome you and your entourage.

‎So, it is a welcome development for you to say that you want to establish a CNG conversation station in the state, and we are ready to work with you on that.

‎Your coming is very timely, and I’m very sure that by next year, part of our budget that the ministry of transport must note is that, we must procure CNG buses to ease the cost of transportation in our state,” Governor Diri stated.

‎Top government officials at the courtesy visit included, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, deputy governor of Bayelsa State, Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei, Secretary to the state government, Dr. Peter Akpe, Chief of Staff, government house, Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo, deputy chief of staff, Comrade Gowon Toruyouyei, deputy chief of staff, deputy governor’s office and other top government officials.

Similarly , the ‎Governor of Bayelsa State,in Sampou, received a delegation of Chiefs, political leaders, women and youth of Aleibiri federated communities in Ekeremor Local Government Area , recently.

‎The delegation led by the Paramount Ruler, His Royal Highness, Dr. James Sarakri was in the governor’s country home to thank him for the developmental strides of the prosperity government, which includes the proper siting of the Bayelsa State Polytechnic, road network, Pavilion and other projects.

‎Governor Diri while thanking the people of Aleibiri for their support in the 2023 governorship election, stated that the prosperity government will continue to do its best in developing the state.

‎”In the 2023 governorship election, the people of Aleibiri gave me their full support, knowing well that I’m their son, and I thank them greatly.

‎Irrespective of the political parties we belong to, we should all work for the development of our communities, and for us as a government, that is what we will continue to do,” Governor Diri stated.

‎The delegation from Aleibiri federated communities included, Rt. Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi, former deputy governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Tare Porri, member representing Ekeremor Constituency One in the State House of Assembly, other political leaders, Chiefs, Women and Youth of the community.
