“I Was Shocked To See My Little Kids Perform At AMJON Event – Dr Yinka Sese Atina
Dr. Yinka Sese Atina , mother of Ejiro and Kevwe has expressed shock over the sterling performance of her children at the recently held Conference and Awards put together by Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria AMJON in Lagos.
Dr. Atina stated that the children have been performing at schools and churches on regular interval but for a corporate event like that of the journalists group was an eye opener for greater things to come in the future.
According to her, the kids magical music career is gradually taking a new twist.
Apparently not passionate about the kids sojourn into music initially, the artistes mother gave God the glory for the talent display by the Sese Atina brothers urging them not to relent in their academics despite the outstanding performance at the conference and awards event.
While expressing shock over the performance of the duo, mother of Ejiro and Kevwe maintained that “I never knew that the children can perform at a large gathering like this despite .
“I wasn’t really expecting it this way but I was amazed at what I saw at the event.
“Though I normally support them despite the fact that they are still kids and I will always keep supporting them with whatever they need . I talk to them and guide them spiritually and mentally but their performance is outstanding at the event,”she confessed.
She further called on the children to strike a balance between career and vocation noting that “As kids they can master the act of both”.
Recall that Ejiro & Kevwe bagged the Young Entertainers Awards from the just concluded Conference and Awards put together by the Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON).
Award is coming barely a month the duo performed at the Indian festival called Diwali aboard a Motor Tanker vessel in Lagos.
The duo while speaking shortly after receiving the award, described the organisers of the event as a group of people with eye for young talents.
According to Kevwe, the nature of their music attracts mostly the elites adding that the jazz music is for the matured minds.
Kevwe called on stakeholders from the maritime industry to support them either by advice or musical exposure.
“I Thank God for making this award to happen. I also want to thank my jazz fans for the support.
“I want to thank the two unions that made us to explore the maritime industry in the area of entertainment which I believe paved the way for this award.
“I want to also thank my father and mother for their immense support towards ensuring that we prosper in the musical journey.
On his part, Ejiro thanked the organizers of the award for honouring them adding that the appreciation will not be complete without commending the parents.
The event which held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 in Lagos also honoured eleven other distinguished personalities and marine company for their immense contributions to nation building.
