I Remain Chairman ,Apapa Chapter Of ANLCA… Chief Onyeka

The Chairman, Apapa Chapter, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Chief Dominic Onyeka has dismissed claims by the group’s electoral body disowning him as the bonafide chapter chairman.

Chief Dominic Onyeka in a chat with journalists on Tuesday in Lagos, insisted that the December, 2019 elections that brought him into office followed necessary procedures.

He also alleged that the acclaimed chairman of the association electoral body has been suspended.

The electoral body of ANLCA had alerted the public that it had not conducted elections into the executive chairmanship positions of the Western zone.

The Association’s Electoral Commission (ASECO), Barr. Raymond Onyimba, in a statement in Lagos, said “This is to inform members of the public and particularly licensed members of our Association that ASECO under my leadership have not conducted elections of Western zone.

According to Onyimba ,the elections were suspended due to security reasons even as he maintained that new date and venue would be communicated to the members of the association after consultation with stakeholders.

But responding to the allegations ,the ANLCA Chairman maintained that the Western Zone Chapter election was duly conducted and contestant with a certificate of return issued to winners.

The Chairman stated that an election with five Board of Trustee members in attendance cannot be discredited.

Chief Onyeka alleged that the ASECO chairman was suspended for failing to meet up with requirements and information about the previous election as demanded by the BOT.

“As far as am concern Raymond was suspended as ASECO chairman and he is not the chairman of ASECO at the moment.

“The five members of the BOT that conducted the elections of the western zones are the same people who conducted the NECOM election.

He noted that:” The truth is that there is discord in the association because after the election of Enugu where the President was election; there was a kind of discord among members.

“There was lack of harmony among the two groups that contested that elections which resulted to breakdown of communication.

“Those appointed cannot rub shoulder with me because I was duly elected.
