How Tsanni, Njoku Emerged As CRFFN Governing Board Chairman and Vice – Tanko

The Coordinator of 100% Compliance Team, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Alhaji Tanko Ibrahim has debunked insinuation of the chairmanship imposition for the Council for the Regulations of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) by the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Ameachi.

A session of the media had reported that the Minister had imposed the former chairman of the immediate council board, Alhaji Tsanni Abubakar on the new executives.

But Tanko who is one of the newly elected executives into the council, described the report as baseless and untrue, even as he added that both chairman and vice chairman positions were all agreed by the 32 governing board members.

Speaking against the backdrop of newly elected governing board members of the council on Tuesday, Tanko explained that the emergence of Tsanni Abubakar as Chairman and Henry Njoku as Vice, was done by consensus arrangement .

According to Tanko, “There were 32 members present, when the Hon. Minister of Transport walked in and told us that he had other engagements for the day hence, he will not spend more than one minute with us.

“He then said that the status quo will remain, that Tsanni should remain as Chairman, and we all agreed because we were in support of this.

“We the NAGAFF people all agreed that we should support Tsanni Abubakar, ” he revealed.

When asked if there was any imposition as alleged in some sections of the media, Tanko said there is no iota of truth in that.

In his words, “There is no issues here, it was an agreement by all of us.what we arrived at was what played out.

“Nobody opposed what the Minister said, that was exactly what happened, it was a popular decision before he left for another meeting as he told us earlier.”

On the issue of inauguration, Tanko said there was no inauguration, adding ” They only called for a meeting, not inauguration. The meeting as I explained was for us to endorse or reject those appointments not for inauguration or swearing in as wrongly reported.

“It was only the legal Director of the Ministry of Transportation who told us that they will call us for the inauguration Ceremony and swearing in soon, not the Minister, he said.
