..Set Up Taskforce To Recovery Govt Vehicles, Anti Deforestation

The Governor of Cross River State , Prince Bassey Edet Otu has approved the appointment of Professor Anthony Owan- Enoh and Emmanuel Ironbar as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Chief of Staff respectively.

Permanent Secretary, General Administration, of the Secretary to the state government, Mr. Innocent Eteng disclosed in a statement on Tuesday, 6th June 2023.

According to the statement, other appointments were also made by the Governor , which include: Major General Okoi Ubi Obono (rtd) as the Senior Special Adviser on Security (State) and AIG John Abang (rtd) as Special Adviser Security (Central).

Others include: Mr Achu Ben Olayi, Special Adviser on Security North, Commander Patrick Odiong, Special Adviser South, Emmanuel Ogbeche – Chief Press Secretary and Mr. Sylvester Otu Abang – Acting state Chief Protocol .

The statement noted that the appointments take immediate effect .

Also the Governor has also set up a taskforce team to recovery all Cross River State government owned vehicles.

The 15- man committee has been mandated to recovery all State owner  vehicles and hand them over to the transport officer of the  government office for appropriate documentation and custody.

Meanwhile, as the world celebrates World Environment Day today , June 6th ,the Cross River Governor has appointment A -21 man special  taskforce on anti deforestation.

The taskforce has the mandate to curb all forms of illegal wood logging in the state forest in a view of preserving the rich biodiversity as well as apprehend defaulters.

The appointment also takes immediate effect.

” It’s important to consciously protect the environment especially the forest.”it stated.
