Gov. Fintiri Harps On Effective Border Policing, Receives New Customs Comptroller

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, has welcomed the new Customs Comptroller, Abdullahi Salisu Kazaure, who visited the Governor to introduce himself and seek support in the fight against smuggling and illegal immigration.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, on Wednesday, April 10, 2023, assured the Comptroller of his administration’s commitment to assisting the Nigeria Customs Service in its responsibility to secure the nation’s borders and prevent illegal and unlawful activities such as smuggling and trafficking.

He stated that he is working diligently with his team to ensure that the Nigeria Customs Service’s mandate met in the state, particularly in the areas of revenue generation and anti-smuggling operations.

Governor Fintiri also emphasized the need for collaboration between the Nigeria Customs Service and other security agencies in the state in order to provide a safe and secure environment for all inhabitants.

He went on to say that as a government, their committed to work with the customs agency to ensure that their task are carried out successfully and that they battl the scourge of smuggling jointly.

The newly posted Comptroller of Customs, Abdullahi Salisu Kazaure, stated that he was on a familiarization visit to the state’s seat of power in order to inform the Governor that he has assumed duty in the state.

He pledged to cooperate, support, and contribute his quota to the growth and development of the state and nation through determination and commitment to his responsibilities.
