Gov. Eno Pays Condolence Visit To Family Of Deceased Church Worshippers In Eket
The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno defied the early Monday rains to pay a condolence visit to the family of Chief Samingo Etukakpan in Eket.
Chief Etukakpan lost four members of his family in the tragic auto crash that claimed 12 lives that were returning from a church event in Lagos.
Governor Eno was accompanied by his deputy Sen Akon Eyakenyi, the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong. Uwah, AKHA Member for Eket, Dr Nsidibe Akata and was received on the visit by the Vice Chairman of Eket, Mrs Comfort Emmanuel, council secretary, Mr Usoh Hanson and the Atta of Eket, Hon Ayang Ayang.
The Governor who had earlier sent a condolence message to the church and families of the deceased, promised to visit the Salvation Army church subsequently.
“Today, I visited the family of Samingo Etukakpan in Eket to offer my heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss of their beloved children and church members in last week’s devastating car crash. We mourn their departure and share in their grief.
“In this difficult time, we stand united with the Etukakpan family and all those affected. Our thoughts and prayers are with them, offering support and comfort. May God’s love and healing grace surround them during this journey, granting them strength and solace as they navigate through this painful period,”he stated on his verified facebook page.
Recall that Salvation Army Nigeria Territory announced the loss of 12 of its members in a fatal auto accident involving its officers returning from Officers’ Councils Conference in Lagos.

A statement issued by the Public Relations Secretary Organization, Major Daniel Ekong, stated thus, “The Salvation Army has lost twelve of its officers (pastors), a baby and a driver in a fatal accident occurred at the Ovia River close to Benin City, the Edo State capital on Thursday June 29, 2023.
According to Major Daniel Ekong, “At the time of this statement, it has been reported that approximately 12 Officers, one comrade who drove the vehicle, and a baby tragically lost their lives, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
