Gov. Diri swears in 15 Permanent Secretaries
urges newly appointed to lead with integrity, accountability
Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri has sworn-in fifteen new permanent secretaries at the council chambers, Government House, Yenagoa.
Governor Diri said the new permanent secretaries were selected based on merit.
The governor said the new permanent secretaries went through written examination and oral interview. And a lot of parameters were considered before they were appointed.
“Today marks history as we have inaugurated the newly appointed permanent secretaries in the Bayelsa State civil service.
As a policy, I have decided to bring back the glorious days of the permanent secretaries-ship.
Therefore, your appointments were based on the rules and regulations governing the process and procedure of your selection based on merit.
I charge you all to lead with integrity and accountability. You are stewards of the public and you must earn the public trust”, Gov. Diri stated.
The newly sworn-in permanent secretaries are; Anengimo Loveday, Claude Ujile Gogo, Oloye Agnes, Kemedei Doubara, Raymond Angaye, Omubo Diepreye, Sokari Stanley, Okrinya Samiso and Peremoboere Soroh.
Others are Otrofaniowei Poweidei, Ekeke Hamilton, Ayabowei Enemo, Jonjon Olali Samuel, Apulu Iyobosa, and Festus Lukoh.
Dignitaries at the event were Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrujakpo, Member representing Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Fred Agbedi, former military governor of old Rivers State, King Alfred Diette-Spiff, Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly represented by the Leader of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Monday Obolo-Bubou, Chief Whip of the Bayelsa State Assembly, Hon. Michael Ogbara, Hon. Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, Justice Matilda Abrakasa Ayemieye, President Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Daniel Ayah, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Hon. Solomon Agwana, Head of Civil Service, Barr.(Mrs) Biobelemoye Charles-Onyema, Chief of Staff Government House, Dr. Peter Akpe, Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, and other top government officials.
