The Kano state Public Complaints And Anti-Corruption Commission has written the Secretary, Kano Emirate Council summoning Isa S. Bayero over an investigation on an alleged violation of section 26 of the Commission’s enabling Law in the management of Kano State Emirate Council Fund.
Recall that the commission and the state Assembly started an investigation into emir’s finances in a move pundits believe were calculated attempt to dethrone Emir Muhammadu Sanusi before the intervention of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
According to a letter requesting attention of the top aide in the Emirate was signed by CSP Sulaiman Aliyu Gusau, Director Operations on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, dated 2nd May 2019.
The letter said pursuant to the provision of section 31(1)(a) and (b) of the Kano state Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Law2008 (as amended) requested release of the officer to shed lights on payment vouchers from 2013 to 2017.
It directed Isa. S. Bayero to be at the commission conference room by 12.00noon on Thursday, May 9th.
The move by the Commission came on the heels of Kano House of Assembly plot to decentralized the Kano emirate council to five distinct emirates.
