FUEL SCARCITY PROTESTS: Edo Receives 784,000 Litres Of PMS, Sets Up Taskforce

The Edo State Government said it has received 784,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit also know as (PMS).

As a follow-up the state government also pointed out that a task force will be set up to work with other stakeholders to monitor the filling stations that received products and how much each receives.

Edo State Commissioner for Mining and Energy, Engr. Ethan Uzamere stated at a press briefing in Edo State on Tuesday.

“We have received 784,000 litres of PMS in Edo State and we will continue to inform Edo people and citizens how much we receive daily as the task force to be inaugurated will work with other stakeholders to let the people know the filling stations that received products and how much each receives.”

“The government has heard the cry of the people and is taking steps to ensure the availability of PMS. A task-force will be set up to ensure more PMS and safety of the filling stations.”

Recall that Hundreds of protesters blocked roads in Benin City, the Edo State Capital, South-South Nigeria on Monday, over the protracted fuel scarcity and hike in the price of the product.

A video of the protest seen by our correspondent  on Monday morning shows fires on the road with thick smoke billowing from the burning materials.
