In the annals of Nigeria Customs Service, few officers have carved a legacy as distinguished and inspiring as Chief Superintendent of Customs, Isah Sulaiman, on Tuesday December 2 2025 , marked a poignant chapter in the storied journey of a man whose name has become synonymous with integrity, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to duty.

The Seme Area Command, a pivotal gateway guarding our borders, came alive in a rare outpouring of admiration and respect as elite stakeholders from military, paramilitary, law enforcement, and the media gathered for a surprise send-forth ceremony honouring Sulaiman’s stellar service.

It was a celebration not just of a transfer, but of a chapter rich with accomplishments and an imprint of excellence that will be felt for years to come.

From his early days as the indefatigable Public Relations Officer (PRO) at the Western Marine Command to his dynamic leadership in the Federal Operations Unit Zone B and finally to the heart of the Seme corridor, Sulaiman has been the steadfast bastion of effective communication and inter-agency synergy.

His tenure at Seme, beginning February 7, 2025, redefined what it means to serve one’s country with humility and distinction.His peers lauded him as an image-maker par excellence, a consummate professional whose impeccable training and vision transformed the challenge of border management into a seamless enterprise of cooperation.

“A bridge builder, a true friend of the press, and a beacon of humility,” a cross section of media practitioners said , even as they noted that qualities that endeared him not only to colleagues but to every stakeholder fortunate enough to work with him.

Comptroller Wale Adenuga, the Customs Area Controller, Nigeria Customs Service who spoke from the heart, at the farewell ceremony, described Sulaiman as one of the finest PROs in Nigeria Customs history, whose presence steadied and elevated the entire command.

“If it were up to me, I would have kept him here forever,” Adenuga confessed, underscoring how deeply his contributions resonated within the command’s fabric.

“The media, the very pulse of public engagement, echoed a unanimous tribute—Sulaiman was a journalist’s delight, always accessible, profoundly professional, and insightful.
