FG Denies Reports On Schools Closure Nationwide

The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Education, has firmly denied reports circulating that it has ordered the closure of all schools nationwide starting from November 24, 2025.

According to a statement signed by Folasade Boriowo, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Ministry, these reports are false, misleading, and did not originate from the Federal Government, the Federal Ministry of Education, any State Ministry of Education, or any recognized security agency.

The Ministry urged the public to rely only on verified information from official sources and warned against sharing unverified announcements to curb misinformation.

However, the Government has confirmed the closure of 41 Federal Unity Colleges due to rising security challenges and recent abductions, as approved by the Minister of Education.

This closure is specific to those schools with a directive for principals to enforce it immediately, but it does not extend to all schools across the country.

The public is advised to verify and rely on official channels for updates regarding school operations.
