FAREWELL: DCG Kikelomo Adeola Takes Charge Of FATS, As Orbih Bows Out

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) recently held a farewell and birthday ceremony on December 5, 2025, for the retiring Deputy Comptroller-General (DCG) Charles Orbih, who served as DCG in charge of Finance, Administration, and Technical Service (FATS).

The event, held at NCS Headquarters in Abuja, gathered senior officers, family, and friends to honor his decades of disciplined and meticulous service.DCG Kikelomo Adeola has now taken over as the new DCG in charge of Finance, Administration, and Technical Service.

She paid tribute to Orbih’s leadership and mentorship, emphasizing the positive impact he had on many officers and wishing him a peaceful retirement with his family.

Other senior DCGs, including Dera Nnadi and Timi Bomodi—who leads Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation—also praised Orbih’s professionalism, humility, and key contributions to policy reforms and administrative excellence within the Service.

In his remarks, the retiring DCG expressed gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, the management team, and colleagues across departments and Commands. He noted that his career had been shaped by teamwork, discipline, and a shared commitment to national development.

DCG Kikelomo Adeola, who has assumed duties as the new DCG in charge of Finance, Administration and Technical Service, praised his leadership and mentorship, noting that many officers had benefitted from his guidance.

“During this period of rest, we pray you enjoy it with your family. You will end well. You’ve ended well in the Nigeria Customs Service, and you will end well in life. Your time of retirement will be a time of rest,” she said, adding, “Don’t ever change who you are. Our prayers will always be with you.”

DCG Dera Nnadi, in charge of Strategic Research and Policy, described Orbih as a knowledgeable and humble officer who consistently prioritised the institution’s interests. He highlighted Orbih’s contributions to major policy reforms within the Service.

DCG Timi Bomodi, overseeing Enforcement, Inspection and Investigation, also commended Orbih for his discipline and calm handling of complex administrative issues, noting that his professionalism had set a standard for officers nationwide.

The ceremony featured goodwill messages and reflections from colleagues and family members.
