FAKE FACEBOOK: Police Dismisses Claims Of IGP’s Involvement With Customs For Nationwide Auctions

The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed claims of the Inspector General of Police, Abubakar Adamu’s involvement with the Nigeria Customs Service to auction seized vehicles nationwide, saying such facebook post is fake .

DCP Frank Mba, Force Public Relations Officer,Force Headquarters in a statement on Wednesday, disclosed that the top brass has no personal facebook account, urging Nigerians to disregard the post .

According to him, the publication it is not just fake but also mischievous and aimed at defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.

Mba assured the public that the fraudster and impostor will soon be arrested and made to face the rigour of the law.

The statement added that:”The attention of the Nigeria Police Force has been drawn to a Facebook Page with Account name “AbubakarAdamu Mohammed” and a post claiming that the Nigeria Police Force in collaboration with the Nigeria Custom Service are auctioning impounded vehicles to interested members of the public.

“The Nigeria Police Force wishes to state that the bearer is not the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed AbubakarAdamu, NPM, mni.

” It is also worthy to state that the Inspector General of Police does not have a personal Facebook account and the“ACP MIKE UZUOMAH” mentioned in the post is not a Police Officer and such name does not exist in Nigeria Police Force database.

“Members of the public are advised to disregard this publication for it is not just fake but also mischievous and aimed at defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.
