Ex-NIMASA DG Usoro Emerges President  CILT Nigeria 

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport(CILT-NIG) has elected the pioneer Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Barr. Mfon Ekong Usoro as its new President.

 

The election  took place in a Abuja over the weekend.

 

Usoro got 154 vote to defeat the other  two males contestants: Chief Igna Owums who got 18 votes and Barr. Dr. Alban Igwe who got 12 votes.

Usoro takes over from Alh. Abubakar Jibrin who successfully completed his two terms.

 

In her acceptance speech, the President elect thanked all members for their support. she further stated that “CILT-NIG is for everyone”, I invite all to come together and work as a team.

She however stated that the election is over, there is no looser, but urged all members to be on board as this is a ”new era for Cilt -Nigeria”

The election was attended by professional members and it was conducted peacefully in a free and fair atmosphere.

 

Announcing the results which was conducted both physical and via online, the Chairperson of the 2021 National Election Mrs Moji Jimoh expressed happiness over the way and manner the professional members conducted themselves during the elections.

 

Other officers elected was Dr. Aminu Yusuf(former DG Nigeria Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) Zaria as the Deputy National President , Mrs Margret Ogbonnah as the Vice President West.

Others are Billy D. Filibus as Vice President North, Adeyinwo Olanisesede Rail mode, Usman Shuaibu Martime mode,  Aviation mode goes to Queen N. Ajayi, Sani M. Ibrahim Road mode, Logistics Modes was Bolaji O. Olowoye.

 

Also elected were Olumode Ibrahim for Pipeline mode and Juliana O. Saka female Rep. of the Council.

 

The founder of Women in Logistics and Transport (WILAT)globally Haiya Aisha Ali Ibrahim retained her position as Permanent Council Member of CILT -Nigeria, while Dr Usman Gidado the International Vice President Nigeria is also a Council Member, other Council members include the branch  Chairmen and President of CILT next generation.
