Ex- Merchant Navy Union President Loses Mom

A former National President , Nigerian Merchant Navy Officers and Water Transport Senior Staff Association (NMNOWTSSA) Engr. Matthew Alalade on Wednesday, 17th July, 2024 lost his mother

His late mother, Elizabeth Omotayo Alalade who was born on April 1, 1938, dies on July 17, 2024 at the age of 86 years .

Speaking on the loss, Engr Alalade described his late mother as a loving mother who never discriminated against anyone.

He maintained that the mother was a prayer champion who won the souls of many people to the church through her evangelism and way of life.

He added that her death was painful to him as the first child of the family of six. He said that the late mother used to prau for the children up till her death of death.

According to him, the late mother was friend of all the community people irrespective of their religion which he said endeared different tribes and religions to her.

“This led to the people throbbing into her home when the news of her death was announced to the community.”,he stated.

He quipped that the deceased has been buried but her funeral has been slated for the first quarter of year 2025.
