Esene Emerges 7th Chairman Lagos State Jubilee Estate

The Ayangburen Jubilee Housing Estate (one of the  estates of Lagos State Government) has over the weekend elected officers to run the affairs of the estate.
The election was as a result of dissolution of all formal CDA and constituted Caretaker/ Electoral Committee by the Lagos State Government last month.

The Caretaker/Electoral Committee Chairman of the estate Alhaji Ishola Saheed Ayedun and his members quickly swung in to action by supervising the affairs of the Estate and had conducted elections in to various available offices as enshrined in the bye-law.
In a statement made available to the Press shortly after the Election results was announced, the Media Advicer to the Estate Chairman Alh. Bashir Ambi said the election was free, fair and transparent. Although, the atmosphere was heated by the political lobbying for votes, but the Caretaker /Electoral Committee have tried.
The process was thorough, candidates were screened and one of the criteria for voting or to be voted for is non-indebtedness to the Estate statutory dues. I the history of this Estate, this is the first time an election has recorded massive  electorates. Amazingly, even during the manifesto night, residents defied the heavy downpour at night and listened to the promises of aspirants, an exercise that lasted for over 5 hours from 8PM. The Caretaker/ Electoral Committee have exhibited high sense of commitment and sacrifice toward the election.
Announcing the Elections results, the Chairman, Caretaker /Electoral Committee stated that 5 offices were won unopposed. He however announced the results as follows : for the office of the Chairman, Mr. Peter Esene had 166 votes to defeat his contender Mr. Iskil Kuye who got 106 votes. While the office of the Vice Chairman was won unopposed by Alhaja O. Sulaimon.
The position of Secretary General was won by Ovunba A. Aderonke with a total votes of 149 to defeat her opponent, Mr Richard Nakireru who had 114 votes. Whe the Treasurer was won by Adegoke A. Emmanuel who had 169 votes, defeated immediate past Treasurer Alh. Musbau Okeowu who got 94 votes.
While the office of the Auditor was captured by  Majaro O. Ismail to defeat the immediate past Auditor Mr. Adekunle Adewale Adebare, the Auditor. Others are Belewu I. Ojuolape who was voted as Social Secretary to defeat the immediate past Social Secretary Bosede Jocobs.
Positions declared unopposed according to Alh. Ishola, the Chairman Caretaker /Electoral Committee are the office of Financial Secretary who won it unopposed by Adeyinka A. Ajibade, Welfare Secretary goes to George O. Orlu,  Assistant Secretary was Olabiyi O. Moses and the Estate Public Relations was won by Animashaun M. Segun.
In his acceptance speach, the new Chairman Mr. Peter Esene, MNIPR thanked all the residents for the confidence and assured them that his regime will not disappoint them.
” Time is set to work and we won’t fail our Esteemed Residents. As we begin a new chapter we appeal for stakeholders cooperations as we take giant strides in rebuilding our estate.”
The Chairman further stated  that elections is over. ” Our word is there is no victor and there is no vanquished. The victory is for all the residents and not for us.we don’t have any winner. It is a family affair where we have all come out to elect few of us to manage the affairs of the estate.”
Earlier, in his speech, the CDC Chairman in Ikorodu, Prince Niran Ogunbanwo, who equally represented the State to supervised the hitch free conduct of the CDA Elections in Jubilee was appreciative of the commitment of the Caretaker/Electoral Committee, he however commended themselves peacefully prior, during and after the elections. He urged the elected officers to operates based on the guidelines enshrined in the CDA Constitution. He wish them well.
The defeated Chairmanship aspirant Arch. Iskil gladly exhibited maturity and one love by posting the following message on the Estate Platform.
” Dear *Peter Esene* Congratulations on your victory at the just concluded CDA election of our dear estate. Winning an election is no small feat. Congratulations to you and your team. U indeed took the ballot baskets home… be rest assured of my continual support in harnessing the peace and development of the estate. I pray for Almighty God’s continous guidance in fulfilling the purpose for which you’ve been elected.
Congratulations once again and do enjoy the victory!”
Until his victory as the new Chairman of Jubilee Estate, Mr. Peter Esene is now the 7th Chairman of the estate built for over 2 and half decacades by their Excellencies Gen. Buba Marwa (phase 1) and President Bola Tinubu (2nd phase) Esene, was a former Welfare Secretary of the Estate for 2-term, he later served as the General Secretary of the Estate for another 2-term and he was an Ex-officio in the immediate past administration of the Estate.
