The people in Ogugu and Nenwe towns in Enugu state were thrown into pandemonium recently when it was said that a helicopter that has military colors was said to have dropped unknown people on the ground near Nenwe junction, in a hilly area close to Ogwugwu town, popularly called Ugwu Tank. Nenwe and Ogwugwu share a common boundry.

Some eyewitnesses claimed  there were at least two trips by the helicopters that flew low, dropped the passengers and flew off again.

Recall that Nenwe people had altercations with herdsmen that they sent away from the town, after which the governor came to the town and urged the town to live in peace with herdsmen. He came with Enugu state branch head of Miyetti Allah, the umbrella body of herdsmen in Nigeria. The group has expressed anger over the actiion of the town

Again, a pregnant woman was murdered at Emene, Enugu allegedly by the same herdsmen, with her baby ripped open from her belly.

Again, some hoodlums, which some critics allege to be herdsmen attacked a police station, carting away arms and ammunition. The police said the attacks were done by hoodlums.

In all these, the governor visits the site, promises to bring perpetrators to book. End of case.
