Embarrassment As Israel Rejects Nigerian Pilgrims

No fewer than seventeen intending Nigerian pilgrims from Niger State have been denied visa by the Israeli authorities, and would not be opportune to participate in this year’s pilgrimage that will kick-start this Friday in Jerusalem.

The information was unveiled by the Leader of the Niger State Christian Pilgrims, Pastor El’Yakim Samaila, in the course of the sensitization programme for the would-be pilgrims in Minna, Niger State.

Yerima, however, said that 171 pilgrims from Niger State would be conveyed to the Holy land of Jerusalem on Thursday, today, through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

In a similar vein, the Acting Director, Christian Department, Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Joanna Pada, admonished the intending pilgrims to be careful of their deeds while in Jerusalem.

Pada said, “Nobody should try to flee because it brings embarrassment to Nigeria as a country.

“As part of our responsibilities to monitor the activities of pilgrims, we met and brainstormed to ensure that adequate arrangement is made in terms of transportation, feeding, and accommodation,” she added.
