Elections 2023: NARTO Set To Sign MoU With INEC 

Ahead of the 2022 general elections , the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) has reiterated its commitment to provide logistics services for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

 

President of NARTO, Alhaji Othman Yusuf disclosed this recently during the association’s National Executives Council (NEC) and Chairmen meeting held in Lagos.

 

According to him, NARTO will enter into strategic relationship with INEC ahead of the polls adding that a Memorandum of Underetanding (MOU) would be reached soon in furtherance to providing logistics.

He called on members of the association to get themselves ready for the logistics project.

Othman further urged states and zonal chairmen across the six geopolitical zones of the country to ensure their readiness as it  will boost the image and profile of the association.

He lamented that members of the association failed to participate in some of the states where elections were held recently noting that NARTO will play a key role the general elections.

 

The President also called on leaders of the association at states chapter to strike a working relationship with INEC officials as part of strategies to harmonise the process of symbiotic needs .

“We have been consulting with INEC headquarters and very soon we will sign an MoU ahead of the general elections.

 

“But this cannot be done by the national office alone if we fail to work closely with the states and zonal chairmen , mostly within the Southwest”.
