ELECTION 2023: FRCN Boss Tasks Professional Broadcasters To Use Intellectual Properties To Assist INEC
Ahead of the forthcoming elections, the Director-General , Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Dr Mansur Liman has urged Nigerian Professional Broadcasters to use their skills to assist the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and its stakeholders to deliver a free and fair 2023 polls.
Liman gave the advice in his address to the opening ceremony of the National Broadcast Academy, NBA, 2022 Intermediate Courses in Lagos on Thursday
Dr Liman was represented by the Director Academic Planning; Mr Ayodele Aliyu.
The DG noted that media professionals plays a critical role in educating the electorates on their civic rights.
He urged the participants to demonstrate the skills, they acquired from the training, in the forthcoming general elections.
Dr Liman reiterated that the NBA management was committed to making the programmes hitch free.
He explained that the country was at a critical moment as it prepared for it’s national polls.
Speaking on the guidelines of the programmes, the Director Academic Planning, said that the intermediate Courses are Practical and examination based.
He further disclosed that plans are afoot for the refurbishment of the academy adding that the facelift would commence before the end of the session.
The event was attended by the management of the Academy, which included the Registrar; Mrs Bukola Adedeji , Head of Engineering Department; Mr Mustapha Oduola and Head of General Studies Department; Mrs Jadesola Oduneye.
A cross session of participants drawn from Presentation, Journalism, Production and ICT were also in attendance.
