Eight Power Transformers Of TCN Arrive Lagos Port, Await Haulage Evacuation To Project Sites

Again, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) received eight  brand new power transformers belonging to the TCN, under its Project Management Unit at the Lagos Port Complex (LPC) in  Apapa Port, Lagos state

 

The transformers comprise six number 150/187.5MVA, 330/132/33kV power transformers and two  number 100/125MVA, 132/33kV power transformers are still at the ports as arrangement is being concluded to move the transformers.

 

Ndidi Mbah, General Manager , Public Affairs , TCN who confirmed this on Thursday 19th January , 2023, in a statement disclosed the location for the transformers which are as follows:

  • 2×150/187.5MVA, 330/132/33kV – Bauchi
  • 1×150/187.5MVA, 330/132/33kV – Mayo Belwa
  • 1×150/187.5MVA, 330/132kV – Yola
  • 1×150/187.5MVA, 330/132/33kV —Maiduguri
  • 1×150/187.5MVA, 330/132/33kV – Damaturu
  • 2×100/125MVA, 132/33kV – Yola.

TCN through the EPC contractor (MBH) will move all the transformers to TCN Substations mentioned above. The project is among the World Bank funded project under NETAP.

The transformers are part of the ongoing grid expansion projects under TCN’s Project Management Unit.
