On the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Adha, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Maritime Police Command, AIG Musa Yusuf Garba, has extended warm felicitations to all Muslim faithful, maritime stakeholders, and the general public.
According to a statement on Thursday, the Police chief preached that “Eid al-Adha, a sacred celebration of faith, sacrifice, and unwavering obedience to the will of Almighty Allah, offers a profound reflection on values that fortify our collective commitment to duty, integrity, and service to the nation.
He said “It is a season that beckons renewed dedication to cooperation, patriotism, and compassion, especially in our shared pursuit of national development and peace.
In his remarks, AIG Musa Yusuf Garba psc(+), IIPS, PSPS, reaffirmed that the Maritime Police Command remains resolute and vigilant in the discharge of its mandate to secure Nigeria’s territorial waters, ports, and critical maritime infrastructure.
He further assured that robust security measures have been implemented to ensure the safety and tranquility of our waterways during and beyond the festive period.

“As we celebrate, may this sacred festival usher in peace across our shores, unity among our people, and divine blessings upon our great nation, adding that “Eid Mubarak from all of us at the Maritime Police Command!
Meanwhile, the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command wished to assure members of the public, port users, maritime stakeholders, and the Muslim faithful of adequate security arrangements put in place ahead of the upcoming Sallah celebration.
“In view of the anticipated increase in human and vehicular activities during the festive period, the Command has deployed sufficient personnel and enhanced its operational strategies to ensure the safety and security of lives, property, and critical infrastructure within and around the port environment.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola psc(+),mnips, reaffirmed the Command’s readiness to maintain law and order throughout the celebration as patrols have been intensified, security presence heightened at strategic locations, and necessary intelligence mechanisms activated to forestall any security breach.
The Command also urged the general public to remain law-abiding, be vigilant, and promptly report any suspicious movement or incident to the nearest police station.
