EDO 2020: UI Confirms Obaseki’s Certificate As Genuine

Authorities of the University of Ibadan have confirmed that the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki graduated from the institution, saying he studied Classics.

Management of UI in a statement by its Registrar, Olubunmi Faluyi, confirmed that “governor Obaseki gained admission to the University in 1976 and graduated in 1979 with a Second Class Honours, Lower Division.

“Records of his Admission and Graduation are intact in the archives of the University,” Faluyi said.

In his reaction to the UI’s confirmation of his studentship, Obaseki simply tweeted via his official Twitter handle: “Posterity will always vindicate the just.”

Meanwhile, Governor Obaseki had earlier reacted to the allegation of the certificate forgery leveled against him by his supposed political enemies.

Obaseki, through his special adviser on media and communication strategy, Crusoe Osagie, described the hullabaloo over his certificates as baseless, unfounded and diversionary.

He charged those raising eyebrows over the certificates to approach the issuing institutions to verify the authenticity of the particulars.
