The Delta State government on Friday, directed a return to the existing minimum wage structure for all public servants and a restoration of salaries of other public servants and political office holders to their pre-July 2020 reduced salaries position.

The directive is to take immediate effect.

In a circular issued from the office of the Delta State Accountant General, the government said that this decision was to mitigate the obvious and imminent hardship caused to workers by the impact of the recent dual increase in the pump price of petroleum products and electricity tariff.
