Delta State Govt To Float 19 Technical Colleges
The Delta State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, , has disclosed plans to build nineteen new technical colleges across the state , as part of efforts to encourage technical education in the state.
Okowa disclosed this on Thursday during the 2019 media appreciation meeting at state capital Asaba.
The Governor noted that he would also pay special attention to the girl-child and wealth creation in his second term.
On the Minimum Wage Act, the governor stated, “minimum wage will be paid. We are waiting for the template from the Federal Government.”
While promising that oil and gas and agro industrial parks would come up in the state, Okowa assured that after the rains, bigger bridges would be constructed in the ongoing Trans Warri Ode-Itsekiri Bridges and Access roads.
He revealed that the epileptic power supply from BEDC was part of the discussion he had with his Edo State counterpart, Godwin Obaseki, with a view to seek better ways of addressing the challenge of power supply in the state.
