The Delta State Government on Tuesday, announced that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, his wife, Edith and their daughter have tested negative for #COVID19.
The Governor and his wife had tested positive for the virus on July 1st 2020 and went into isolation for treatment, while their daughter had tested positive a few days earlier.
However ,in this past week, the State Government announced the discharge of the Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu, and 21 other people from the State Isolation Centre where they were being treated for #COVID19.
Recall that the Delta Government had announced that Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Chiedu Ebie, has been discharged from the Isolation Centre in Asaba where he was being treated for #COVID19.
According to Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebie, who had been at the isolation centre for 21 days, was discharged on Sunday after testing negative for the virus.
The SSG’s discharge brings the total number of discharged cases of #COVID19 in Delta State to 583. The state has now recorded 1,359 confirmed cases since the pandemic began.
