The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kaduna Area Command, has announced a significant revenue generation achievement for the 2024 fiscal year, exceeding its target by 11.21%.
A press release issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC), Ridwan Yusuf, on Friday, 3 January 2025, on behalf of the Customs Area Controller (CAC) Comptroller Tijjani Abe, highlighted the Command’s year-on-year increase in revenue collection.
Comptroller Abe revealed that the Command generated a total revenue of N32,207,535,306.75 in 2024, a remarkable 96.65% increase compared to the N16,378,179,323.89 collected in 2023. “This represents an additional N15,829,355,982.86 in revenue compared to the previous year. The Command exceeded its 2024 revenue target of N28,962,262,177.56 by 11.21%, amounting to an increase of N3,245,273,129.19. This milestone represents a significant achievement since the Command’s establishment.”
The CAC attributed the success to proactive stakeholder engagement, operational efficiency, and a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility.
“We have consistently engaged with importers, exporters, and Customs clearing agents through meetings and roundtable discussions to address challenges and promote trade facilitation.
“Furthermore, initiatives like providing drinking water facilities and regular security meetings with host communities have strengthened our relationships,” Comptroller Abe said.
Looking ahead, Comptroller Abe expressed confidence in sustaining and improving the Command’s revenue generation capabilities. “We will continue collaborating with stakeholders and remain vigilant against smuggling activities,” he stressed.
The CAC assured of his Command’s commitment to service delivery and anticipated greater accomplishments in future fiscal years.
