Customs Intercept Illegal Movement Of Military Equipments To Niger Republic

Six mine-resistant military vehicles heading to Niger Republic have been intercepted by the authorities of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in Adamawa state.

 

Speaking to newsmen on Sunday, Customs spokesperson, Joseph Attah, revealed that the six drivers attached to the vehicles were also held by Nigerian authorities.

 

The military vehicles were intercepted by men of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Customs Service and Department of State Services in Konkol, Maiha Local Government Area, Adamawa State.

Konkol is a community on the border between Nigeria and Cameroon.

The heavily fortified equipment were being conveyed without appropriate documentation including their ownership, source and destination, when they were seized.

 

Reports suggests that Defence Headquarters, Abuja, has launched investigation into the discovery of the military hardware currently at customs area command in Yola.
